Imagine sitting your kids down to enjoy the ever-entertaining cat-and-mouse hijinks of Tom and Jerry, selecting the film on HBO Max, then realising with horror that what’s actually just started playing is the R-rated Snyder Cut of 2017’s impressively lukewarm Justice League?
Snyder Cut-ing into your scheduled programming
That’s exactly what happened to several viewers yesterday in a freak accident on HBO Max. When selecting the new CGI Tom and Jerry film, many users were instead able to watch the Snyder Cut of Justice League, which is set to release on the 18th of this month.
The Verge reports that though none of its staff were able to make use of the glitch themselves, those that could only watch the first hour of the four-hour cut.
The glitch was spotted and sorted by HBO shortly after, who told The Verge that “Zack Snyder’s Justice League was temporarily available on HBO Max and the error was addressed in minutes.”
The incident, humorous as it was, was surely mildly shocking for those looking for a kiddie movie to keep the kids quiet for a minute. Though perhaps not as shocking as the price of the Snyder Cut’s accompanying Justice League meal kit.
