We’re all busy people, we know that. Sometimes having an instant messaging app relegating to a single device just doesn’t cut it, dammit! Sure, it’s just another way that the internet has driven capitalism to an ever invasive force of excess production, fusing private and work lives into one ungodly combination that just leads to extreme levels of stress not felt by any generation before ours. But enough of that depressing reality, let’s talk about how WhatsApp is working on functionality that will allow users to send messages from four different devices at the same time!
Why would you ever need to do that? Who knows! Yet it’s pretty neat, I guess.
Yes, it's the ability to use your WhatsApp account from 4 devices at the same time.
Under development, but it's great!📱📱📱📱 pic.twitter.com/JYvtMahrag

Following information coming out of WABetaInfo, the Facebook-owned instant messaging app has reportedly started working on a feature that allows it to be used on multiple devices without needing to be linked back to a phone or “main device”. It’s always been the case that you needed to have the app running on a phone connected to the internet to have it open on other devices, so this update should remove that clumsy functionality.
This kind of massive feature has been rumoured for a long time now, just like the anticipated development of a standalone iPad app which is also, apparently, nearing completion. Of course, don’t expect that app to be released before the multiple devices update; if anything that would be a fun little marketing stunt to drop both of them at the same time to emphasis the expanded roster of devices. Of course, when that release will be is still very much up in the air as nothing official has been announced on that front just yet.
