Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s a thing, a very awesome thing. One of the most unlikely-sounding comic crossovers (and also one of the better ones) is getting an animated movie called… Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Obviously.
And before you decide that we’re bats to be highly excited about this DC Animated crossover film, you should probably click on the first official trailer for the movie. If you’re male and over a certain age, you’re reading these words after two very action-packed minutes. In which case, your work here is done. You can go do something else now.
For everyone else, Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles concerns everyone’s favourite mutated amphibians travelling to Gotham City, getting stomped by Batman and then going up against a rogue’s gallery including the Joker, Penguin, Shredder, and Ra’s al Ghul. At stake? Gotham, obviously. We’re not willing to get too bogged down in details. It’s enough that we’re going to see the Batman and four anthropomorphic turtles prod large amounts of buttock on-screen.
Veteran voice actor Troy Baker is voicing both Batman and Joker, Tara Strong reprises her roles as Harley Quinn (and Poison Ivy), while the Turtles are voiced by David Criss (Raphael), Eric Bauza (Leonardo), Baron Vaughn (Donatello), and Kyle Mooney (Michelangelo). It looks like a solid cast overall, though we’ve got a soft spot for Kevin Conroy’s Batman. Still, we’ll take it.
It might not have Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse‘s stunningly detailed comic book visuals (or an Oscar) but what it does have is Batman. Fighting. The Ninja. Turtles. Really, you should have stopped reading at the headline and let your inner child bask in the warm glow of the awesomest of animated crossovers. Besides Archie Meet The Punisher. Yes, that’s also a real thing.
