You'll often catch me dreaming of a Wind Waker remaster. Or sleeping. One of the two.

Despite the National Treasury trying its absolute damndest to stick South Africans with a fuel price increase in July, we came out unscathed. In fact, petrol drivers were even treated to a small price decrease of 5c/l, while diesel drivers got away with a more sizeable drop of 37c/l. We may still be celebrating our victory, but the wheel doesn’t stop turning. The Central Energy Fund (CEF) has returned with around round of predictions. Petrol for the people That’s pretty par for the course. Regular Stuff readers will know that the CEF always handles the daily predictive snapshots, offering Saffas an…

Clockwork Revolution After it became clear that Geoff Keighley’s opening showcase for the Summer Games Fest was a bit of a bust (apart from news of a new Sonic racer and a mightily promising Mortal Shell 2), we turned our attention to the rest of the fest, focusing mostly on what Xbox had to say about the state of gaming in 2025. What we saw was a mishmash of some enticing games, most of which are headed for Game Pass on their day of release. One of those is Clockwork Revolution. Coming from InXile Entertainment, we got our best look yet at…

The big day has finally come (well, it came yesterday, actually). The Nintendo Switch 2 has finally arrived. We’ve been so knee deep in the hardware, that gorgeous new 7.9in display and, of course, Mario Kart World, that we’ve only just come around to getting our early thoughts of Nintendo’s latest and greatest down on paper (you know what we mean) before we sink back into the goodness that is the Switch 2. There’s no big surprises here. Not that we expected any. Nintendo has been staggeringly upfront about the Switch 2 in the build-up,  promising nothing short of an…

The words ‘budget’ and ‘gaming laptop’ don’t like each other very much. We wish we could say that wasn’t the case for the MSI Vector 16 HX AI (A2XWHG), but its R64,000 starting price just doesn’t cut it in our books. Yet MSI’s Vector 16 HX AI still falls under the ‘good value’ category. It’s not R100k, in other words. To be fair, it’s also not nearly as capable as something sporting a six-figure price tag, but MSI does a damn good job trying. Our review model turned up with an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU, an Nvidia RTX…

If you, like most, were tucked firmly beneath a thick layer of blankets at 23h00 last night instead of tuning into PlayStation’s 40+ minute State of Play showcase, we don’t blame you. Just know that we’ve got you covered. Now, we’re not covering everything that made an appearance last night, but rather the biggest reveals and release dates confirmed at the show. You can always check out the full State of Play here if there’s anything we’ve missed. This is just the first of many big showcases in the coming days. Tomorrow evening — 23h00 — Geoff Keighley will take to the…

It would be fair to say that Amazon has squandered what little goodwill it may have built up in the year-or-so since it launched locally, but now it’s trying to buy some back. Bezos’ retail empire has now expanded to offer customers non-perishable groceries, pet food, and health supplements, according to a report from Reuters. Taking on Takealot, one Red Bull at a time Amazon had the opportunity to spin gold when it first launched locally, with Takealot’s monopoly at the time affording it an extraordinary amount of license to properly rival the online retailer with decent deals. It… didn’t…

You may have already carved out a chunk of your schedule this weekend to pay special attention to the Summer Games Fest (including a lively showing from Xbox) and to treat your brand-new Nintendo Switch 2 right. What you didn’t count on was PlayStation making a late charge with a State of Play this evening, 23hoo local time. We’d be lying if we said we weren’t slightly disappointed this isn’t a proper PlayStation Showcase. But it does beg the question — has State of Play taken over as the de facto Showcase? In honour of the late E3, June is…

Thanks to the National Treasury, South Africa is faced with its first fuel tax hike in three years — with motorists expected to suffer a major 15-16c/l hike on top of the already ludicrous fuel prices at the pumps. Fortunately, thanks to the Rand’s resilience throughout May, motorists will get off easy with cheaper prices in June. The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE), which is responsible for adjusting South Africa’s fuel prices every month (typically on the first Wednesday of any given month), has officially published the fuel price adjustments for June. As such, the new fuel prices…

If you’re eagerly awaiting the opportunity to dig into the Nintendo Switch 2 when it launches this Thursday, you’ll want to hear this. While you rip the plastic off all the little bits (and disregard those Joy-Con straps altogether), you might want to resist the urge to peel off that protective layer on the screen, no matter what. Why? Oh, you might just permanently damage your brand-new Nintendo Switch 2. In other words, no biggie. Nintendo’s got this one covered, legally speaking In case our sarcasm sailed over your heads, this is obviously… a biggie. Nintendo of Europe recently dropped…

There’s a new motorcycle fleet on the streets, and they aren’t carrying burgers. They’re carrying SIM cards and routers. MTN, South Africa’s largest and inarguably best mobile network, has just upped the ante once again. As part of a small pilot programme rolling out onto South Africa’s streets, it has acquired a small fleet of motorcycles hell-bent on bringing the internet to you in a timely fashion, assuming, of course, you’re in Johannesburg. Hitting the streets, fast Known as the Shesh@5G Motor Bike SIM delivery service, customers in select areas of Johannesburg can take advantage of the new service, which…
