We’ve got some good news. Finally. Those South African drivers who are desperate for some sort of reprieve when it comes to the ever-increasing petrol price might finally get their wish when June hits. That’s what the Central Energy Fund (CEF) is promising, thanks to a fresh batch of fuel price predictions captured on 17 May 2024. Don’t worry, diesel drivers. Despite reaping numerous fuel price reductions in succession, the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy is poised to lower prices for both grades of diesel yet again, potentially knocking the current price to below R22/l at the beginning of June.…

Shoprite Group’s Checker’s Sixty60 app is getting a major rework, “enabling customers to shop for over 10,000 larger Checkers Hyper products, with same-day delivery scheduled within a 60-minute time slot,” it announced today. It’s been five months since Rockstar Games graced our screens with the first Tom Petty-adorned trailer for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar then returned to hibernation, leaving us with a 2025 release window and not much else. Until yesterday that is, when Rockstar-owner, Take-Two Interactive, confirmed that the game is slated to release in the Spring of 2025. Finally, Grand Theft Auto VI https://youtu.be/QdBZY2fkU-0 The news came as part of Take-Two’s announcement of its Q4 and full fiscal year 2024 earnings, as reported by Variety. “Our outlook reflects a narrowing of Rockstar Games’ previously established window of Calendar 2025 to…
Camera nerds listen up. Fujifilm South Africa has just announced a duo of cameras bolstering the company’s X Series and GFX large format cameras. Those are the mid-range X-T50, setting your wallet back R26,000, and the far more expensive GFX100S II, expected to retail for R93,500. Both devices are slated to hit shelves in June. Both cameras will debut alongside new lenses, too. For the more conformist X Series, there’s the Fujinon XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8 R LM WR. South Africa has been living in fear of Netflix’s ad-supported tier ever since the streaming giant launched the new tier in 2022. Somehow, the streamer has yet to cast its Eye of Barad-dûr in South Africa’s direction, but we don’t expect that to be the case for much longer. Yesterday, the streamer revealed that in the countries where the ad-supported tier is supported, it is proving wildly successful. Specifically, the tier is up to 40 million subscribers, out of Netflix’s 270 million or so subscribers across all tiers it reported last month. And it’s only gaining steam. Just 5 months…
Look guys, Apple really does care about accessibility for its iPhone customers. What other company would save up some potentially life-changing features to coincide with Global Accessibility Awareness Day? Certainly not Apple, which just announced a whole bunch of accessibility features that are slated to arrive “in the coming months.” Oh, wait. Most notable among them is Eye Tracking, predicted to arrive alongside the new iPadOS 18 and iOS 18 updates next month at Apple’s WWDC conference. Eye Tracking is about as cool as it sounds, allowing users to control basic features of their iPhone or iPad simply by looking.…
