You'll often catch me dreaming of a Wind Waker remaster. Or sleeping. One of the two.

If your only excuse for not paying off those speeding fines was the long lines and paperwork, that’s now out of the window. The City of Cape Town, in partnership with Pay@, has launched a new online portal — PayThat.co.za — which will help Capetonians pay off fines and ‘by-law violation warrants’ more practically. Cape Town is tired of asking “We’re proud to support the City of Cape Town in delivering a digital payment experience that meets the expectations of today’s users. It’s beginning to look a lot like Valve’s got some new hardware hidden up its sleeve — if you can call the floods of rumours about its next VR headset ‘hidden’. Known as the ‘Deckard’ in leaks, but in reality called the ‘Steam Frame’, a fresh set of leaks from multiple insiders reckon the device will be revealed as soon as this week. And, you might be tired of hearing it, but the talk of the town isn’t actually the headset itself (though we don’t doubt it’ll live up to the expectations), but rather the software coming with it. We’re…

Our healthy dose of copium was all for nought. Bloodborne, sadly, did not make an appearance at Sony’s State of Play Japan presentation, which premiered at midnight local time. Instead, we got a ton of Japanese-developed game announcements, DLC updates, release dates, and even some new hardware from the company. If you were rightfully asleep during the action, we’ve got all the biggest announcements below. The PlayStation 27in Gaming Monitor https://youtu.be/mRHgZ_l94F0 The biggest announcement of the night wasn’t a game or DLC, but a 30-second teaser for the PlayStation Gaming Monitor ‘with DualSense charging hook’. This is the first official PlayStation monitor,…

Stuff covers all things Lego, but usually the kind that can easily fit into the backseat of your car. You’ll have trouble doing that here, though. Lego South Africa has revealed what is easily the biggest build brought to the country: a life-sized 192,937-piece Technic Mercedes-AMG F1, shown off at the Zwartkops Raceway this week. Lego’s all bricked up Arguably more impressive than the eight hours Lego claims it took to build the thing (in Singapore, no less) was getting it to South Africa in one piece. Well, it’s here now, and it’ll be shipped around the country for all to…

Sony’s State of Play presentation is back, and this time it’s celebrating everything Japan. Well, specifically the country’s games (which tend to err on the side of ‘good’) — and even more specifically the ones headed to PlayStation in the near future. State of Play Japan is a first for the company, and will air in the early hours of Wednesday, 12 November local time. And if you can’t make it because you’re, well, asleep, we’ve got your back. Big in (State of Play) Japan https://youtu.be/DJp8K40TSxc If there were ever a time to drop the long-rumoured Bloodborne remaster, it would be here. Sony…

Not even a week after the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) slashed fuel prices around the country, the Central Energy Fund (CEF) has stepped in to rain on the parade. According to the CEF’s latest fuel price predictions (captured 7 November), December is shaping up to raise the price of fuel across the board. Not a good day for fuel prices This isn’t some paltry 3-or-4c/l decrease, either. If the CEF’s predictions come to be, motorists could face major increases of roughly 60-70c/l in December. Fortunately, there’s still time for the situation to turn around. The DMRE typically…

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 goes on a diet The latest of a long line of rumours concerning Samsung’s next flagship, the Galaxy S26, reckons that the device will be a whole lot slimmer than its predecessor — we’d hope so — and throw in a wireless charging upgrade, too. That’s coming from the mouth of @UniverseIce, a typically reliable source when dealing with Samsung. If the rumours are true, the Galaxy S26 will measure around 6.9mm thick, dunking on the base S25’s 7.2mm. No other dimensions of the phone are known yet, but seeing as this is a Samsung product, we’re…

One of the best things about Spotify is ‘Wrapped’ — a montage of all the music you’ve listened to for the past year, with the added benefit of putting your mate’s listening habits to shame. The next best thing about Spotify is that Wrapped is an annual event, meaning you only have to put up with seeing people ’em on social media for a week or two. Well, no longer. Sptoifty is introducing ‘listening stats’ for you to post about every single week. That’s a Wrapped We’re not quite sure why Spotify wants this info out in the open, and…

In the wake of its recently formed partnership with the Department of Home Affairs (DHA), Standard Bank has taken its first steps toward expanding the country’s smart ID and passport services at its bank branches. The bank revealed that it had acquired all the necessary tools and infrastructure to kit out twenty more of its branches with the tech in early 2026, up from the nine or so that already offer these services. Happy state of Home Affairs “We’ve moved from concept to execution, and the fact that we’ve already secured the infrastructure for 20 new branches shows just how…
