You'll often catch me dreaming of a Wind Waker remaster. Or sleeping. One of the two.

Rain has announced plans to start selling prepaid products to the masses after CEO Brandon Leigh confirmed that the platform has the necessary functionality to do so. The CEO told the world about Rain’s plan during a presentation during the Avior Corporate Summit. South Africans love anything prepaid, and Rain knows it. By adding an extra line of products, the ISP plans to reach an entirely new market in the country. It seems the problem here isn’t whether Rain can sell prepaid products, but rather how to sell these services. Blessing the Rains down in South Africa Rain is concerned…

WhatsApp is working on an update to make its disappearing messages function a little more attractive to users, called ‘Kept Messages’. You may be asking yourself, “Isn’t that just a normal message?” Technically, you’re right. Except kept messages only work in chats where disappearing messages are turned on. The feature will eventually make its way to WhatsApp’s three major platforms, Android, iOS, and Desktop. Kept messages haven’t even hit the beta testing program yet, so don’t expect it on the standard app any time soon. Not a starred message Kept messages most resemble starred messages, another feature that saves specific…

Has it ever been your dream to stream on Facebook, while simultaneously playing Post Malone’s copyrighted tunes, and earning money from it? Of course not! Now you can – according to Meta’s new rules which were announced yesterday. FNB

In April, FNB and online learning platform Udemy became partners. The team-up gives certain FNB customers access to 400 courses on Udemy, for an extremely discounted rate. All FNB and RMB customers that qualify for eBucks may make use of the offerings. We’re here to tell you how. Over 12,000 South Africans have already made use of the cheap Udemy courses. We’re pretty sure it’s because each course only cost R50. The fact you’re able to use eBucks to pay for them doesn’t hurt either. Many FNB customers have used the partnership to hone their skills in Excel, public speaking,…

Since WhatsApp is South Africa’s messaging app of choice, you may find yourself becoming a little… overwhelmed by the number of chats. In times like these, people often pin the chats they use most. Pinning a chat means it stays ahead of the rest of the pack, its loyalty never wavering. While most users have already discovered pinning, not everybody knows it’s an option. If that’s you, here’s how to pin a chat (or chats) on WhatsApp. How-to You can have three chats pinned at any given time, in any order you want. Any chats that are ‘unpinned’ will…

Discord voice calls have made their way onto Xbox. For now, the feature is only available to select Xbox Insiders. The rest of us must wait, unfortunately. Xboxers can set up Discord calls straight from the console – allowing them to connect across platforms. The catch? You’re only able to call PC gamer friends. For now. Why? Because PlayStation users have been awaiting the Discord addition since May last year. Discord amongst the consoles Despite PlayStation and Discord announcing a partnership in 2021, PlayStation is still waiting for the service to launch on the console. Still, we’re not here to…

Yesterday, Stuff visited the very first Ilanga Cup, which took place at the Red Star Raceway. What is the Ilanga Cup, we hear you ask? In its simplest form, it’s an endurance race between solar-powered cars. Yes, solar-powered cars. The point of the Ilanga Cup isn’t to finish first. The cars are built to go long distances, and that’s what they were there to test. Not speed, but distance. Three teams (out of six that were due to compete) attended the Cup, drawn randomly between twenty universities, high schools and private engineering teams. At the event were North West University…

You may have heard of the Toyota Crown – at least in some capacity. It’s Toyota’s oldest mass-produced vehicle, dating back to 1955. The likelihood of ever seeing one on South Africa’s roads is pretty low. The Crown was sold primarily in Japan. It never really made it to the rest of the world. Until now, anyway. Toyota has unveiled four redesigned Crown models; the Crossover, Sport, Sedan and Estate. All four are making their way across the globe, to 40 countries. The Crossover is confirmed for South Africa. The others… not so much. Not yet, anyway. The range is…

There’s been a lot of chatter recently surrounding Netflix’s upcoming ad-supported tier – with the latest news confirming that the tier won’t have as much content as the paid tiers do. Netflix broke the news during its Q2 2022 earnings interview. Netflix lost almost a million subscribers but that’s less than half of the number it was expected to. This is the second quarter it has lost users. The first time was around the time that the company announced the ad-supported tier. Maybe that had something to do with it. But if you’re not paying for Netflix, you won’t get…
