You'll often catch me dreaming of a Wind Waker remake. Or sleeping. One of the two.

Just last week, we saw the announcement for Sonos’ newest and cheapest soundbar – the Sonos Ray. You may have also noticed the lack of a similarly priced subwoofer to pair it with. At the moment, the only Sonos subwoofer on the market costs $750 (~R12,000). This costs more than the Ray by a long shot – it just wouldn’t make sense to pair it with a subwoofer costing nearly double the price. That’s why the company is gearing up for the release of a newer, cheaper subwoofer, designed to be paired with the Ray, Beam and Arc models. The…

Apple and Google are reportedly set on a massive culling of their own app stores, with Google planning to remove or hide almost a third of its store’s content. The change is in order to try and improve security for users. See, the apps in question have been ‘abandoned’. This means they haven’t seen an update in over two years. Due to recent policy changes from both Google and Apple, apps that haven’t stayed up to date are up for the chop. These apps aren’t as safe as they should be, making them easier to exploit. According to a report from Deadline, Netflix is looking to get into the live-streaming game. It seems strange that it’s taken the company so long to even consider the possibility of live-streaming. That’s over now, as Netflix themselves confirmed that the feature was being worked on. It will eventually permit live stand-up specials, with other live content planned too. It’s possible that Netflix is upping its game due to the ever-looming presence that is Disney+. Just last week, numbers were shown that indicate Disney+ is on the up, while Netflix is slumping. Disney+ also beat Netflix to the live-streaming finish…

In South Africa, smart devices increased to 26.2 million in total, a 13.1% rise.…

If your dream has always been to see an official Optimus Prime Lego set, then consider your dreams fulfilled. This collaboration between LEGO and Hasbro is the first time the companies have ever worked together, and it was worth the wait. The Optimus Prime toy not only looks uber cool. It also transforms. But no, it can’t transform on its own. It’ll still need your help to do that. Before it can do that, you have 1,508 pieces to assemble first. Expect the set to cost $170 (roughly R2, 700) which isn’t bad, considering the price of Lego in general.…

You know Google Maps. The app that’s been around for years, letting you live out fantasies of visiting Stonehenge or the London Eye as if you were on the street next to them. Well, earlier this week, Google launched an even better way of viewing the world, known as ‘Immersive View’. It’s actually quite magnificent. Think of the Street View you’re used to, but up in the sky. Using Immersive View, you can scout out big cities around the world, with Maps using its own traffic and weather data to create a realistic view of the cities. If you don’t…
