You'll often catch me dreaming of a Wind Waker remaster. Or sleeping. One of the two.

We’re not even in August yet, and someone has already leaked official Samsung images of the company’s two upcoming foldables, the Z Flip 4 and the Z Fold 4. The products are set to be officially announced at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, taking place on 10 August. And these aren’t just some random dudes’ dodgy renders either. These are the actual pictures of the devices that were leaked by someone at Samsung. It’s possible Samsung “leaked” the images to get a pre-release buzz going. Still, there’s a slight chance Samsung didn’t intend for these to get out. We can’t confirm…

Sony has called upon Backbone, makers of smartphone controllers, to recreate its Backbone One controller with a PlayStation skin. And, it’s beautiful. It makes your iPhone look a bit like the Switch, especially as the analogue sticks are off-centre. We’re not sure how Sony let that one slide. In other Sony news, it is finally testing a 1440p mode on the PS5. But we’ll get to that. Playing Remotely The Backbone One PlayStation Edition hasn’t gone up in price either. It’s still $100, the same as its sibling controller. In SA, that’s just around R1,600. In which case, it may…

You may be rolling your eyes more than usual when you hear the word ‘Twitter’, but this isn’t another Elon Musk story. That doesn’t mean you won’t roll your eyes, it’s still a Twitter story. The Blue Bird app is currently testing out a new ‘Status’ feature, debuting first in the US and Australia for a select few users. Statuses are a selection of pre-written labels that tweeters can assign to a tweet to offer a little more information. There are ‘A Thread’, ‘AMA’ and ‘Spoiler alert’ labels, to choose from. The point here is to save tweeters valuable characters…

Yes, you read that correctly. Currently, the best club in England, Manchester City, is planning to release a ‘smart scarf’ in order to track fans’ emotions throughout a match. The club has partnered with Cisco to manufacture a scarf that has a sensor embroidered inside. You’d think you’d be able to tell the crowd’s reaction through regular means like sight or sound, right? But the problem is, Manchester City doesn’t have enough fans at matches to accurately track those stats. Maybe the smart scarf was born out of necessity rather than a desire for money. But knowing Manchester City, it’s…

Yesterday, we learned of the President’s plan to dig South Africa out of the hole it’s currently in. Ramaphosa outlined several steps that could potentially save us from the blight known as load shedding. One of the steps involved SA receiving electricity from our neighbours to supplement our wavering power supply. Since then, Botswana has come out and said it will assist South Africa by selling its excess power. This should offset some of the pressure Eskom currently faces. In the space of a day, Botswana has done more for South Africa than Eskom in nearly a decade. Good job,…

The CEO told the world about Rain’s plan during a presentation during the Avior Corporate Summit. South Africans love anything prepaid, and Rain knows it. WhatsApp is working on an update to make its disappearing messages function a little more attractive to users, called ‘Kept Messages’. You may be asking yourself, “Isn’t that just a normal message?” Technically, you’re right. Except kept messages only work in chats where disappearing messages are turned on. The feature will eventually make its way to WhatsApp’s three major platforms, Android, iOS, and Desktop. Kept messages haven’t even hit the beta testing program yet, so don’t expect it on the standard app any time soon. Not a starred message Kept messages most resemble starred messages, another feature that saves specific…

All FNB and RMB customers that qualify for eBucks may make use of the offerings. We’re here to tell you how. Over 12,000 South Africans have already made use of the cheap Udemy courses. We’re pretty sure it’s because each course only cost R50. The fact you’re able to use eBucks to pay for them doesn’t hurt either. Many FNB customers have used the partnership to hone their skills in Excel, public speaking,…
