Logitech has dropped two new sets of headphones, showcasing its new hybrid active noise-canceling technology. The company designed these with open office workers in mind, as the new hybrid ANC tech adapts to the noise levels around you, negating the need for endless manual calibration.
Logitech in the Zone
The Zone Wireless 2 ES cans are compatible with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet. Users can use Teams and Meet with or without a dongle, so one less USB slot is occupied. Smart enumeration also means the device doesn’t still show as an audio source with the cans switched off in dongle mode, so you’re not being accidentally overheard when the dongle is connected.
The Zone Wired 2s are, as the name suggests, a wired version of the above. They offer the same features as their wireless counterpart. They trade in multipoint adaptability and free movement for a lower price and no reliance on charging.
Like most of Logitech’s Zone headphone line, these are made with recycled materials—30% post-consumer-recycled plastic (excluding cables and a few other bits), 100% post-consumer recycled rare earth metal for the magnets, and a battery made from 100% recycled cobalt.
The Zone Wireless 2 ES is available in November, and the Zone Wired 2 arrives a month later. The former retails for $179.99 (about R3,108) with a dongle, and $159.99 (about R2,763) for Bluetooth-only. The latter will retail for a suggested price of $129.99 (about R2,245). The devices are listed on the South Africa section of Logitech’s website, so it seems they’ll be available locally as well.
