DStv is finally feeling the sting of streaming. How else do you explain the numerous promotions and price decreases that have come our way? We’re not complaining. The Multichoice-owned broadcaster has thrown us another gift, announcing a new promotion that’ll have DStv Access and Compact customers living like kings.
Easy access
It’ll cost you, first, of course. R100, to be specific, on top of whatever deal you’ve struck up with DStv in the past. DStv Access customers on the decoder package, for instance, will pay the usual R140/m price – plus an extra R100 that’ll see them upgraded to the Compact package. That’s a R230/m saving. Compact customers upgrading will instead be bumped up to first class, to dine with the Premium customers.
“Customers who upsize will gain full access to the entire upgraded package experience, including all the live channels, the DStv app including the full on-demand Catch Up library, and a much wider selection of content, including blockbuster movies, top-tier local and international series, live sport on SuperSport, kids’ programming, and lifestyle channels,” DStv said in a release.
DStv clarifies that this is a once-off deal, and will see your content reverted to its original plan the next time Multichoice pilfers your bank account. Customers have until 31 March to make the upgrade, meaning you’re probably best off saving the upgrade until the day after your next payment.
When that day arrives, “customers must make full payment of their DStv account, including an additional R100, via a store, the MyDStv app, DStv WhatsApp number 060 060 3788, or the website. The upgrade will be processed automatically within 48 hours.” You’ll receive an SMS confirming the swap over.
