Volvo Car South Africa aims to help new potential drivers make the leap to EVs with a new deal for new drivers. Anyone buying a new Volvo EV in the last three months of 2024 will also get three complementary benefits. In addition to the popular EX30, and the XC40, Volvo announced the launch of the EX90 seven-seater next year.
Volvo Car South Africa’s Electric Fleet
Volvo Car SA’s current selection of EVs includes the EX30, the XC40 Recharge, and the C40 Recharge. The promotion, limited to the last quarter of this year, is as follows: buyers of new fully-electric Volvo vehicles get a year of free charging, two years of comprehensive vehicle insurance, and three years of complimentary in-car data. That last one would be a fantastic add for Volvo owners. For… reasons.
The EX30 has been a runaway hit according to Volvo Car South Africa. Volvo asserts that it has been the highest-selling electric vehicle in the country this year (as of August), owing to its competitive pricing and value. Emphasising the brand’s commitment to leading the local electric vehicle market, “Volvo is already at the forefront of South Africa’s new-energy vehicle space and is responsible for much of the recent growth in the fully electric segment,” says Markus Cromwell, Commercial Director at Volvo Car SA.
The EX30 is available in multiple configurations, allowing customers to select from several powertrain options, battery types, and trim levels. Additionally, the XC40 Recharge is offered in both Single Motor Plus and Twin Motor Ultimate configurations, while the stylish C40 Recharge comes standard in the Twin Motor Ultimate version. Volvo Car South Africa’s flagship EX90 seven-seater also launches locally at the end of the year. The first customer units will hit SA shores sometime in the first quarter of 2025.
