Jacaranda FM has announced a new initiative aimed at local female entrepreneurs. The #HerPerfectPitch2024 competition is running throughout South Africa’s Women’s Month and is set to award the winning participant with “over R2 million in business assistance.”
Jacaranda FM’s managing director, Deirdre King, highlighted the importance of shining the spotlight on local female entrepreneurs. “Women who are purposeful in bolstering the economy are also hiring other women, creating stronger communities of female entrepreneurs as they connect through #HerPerfectPitch2024.”
Female entrepreneurs can win with Jacaranda FM
The station is looking specifically for female entrepreneurs who’ve been in business for at least a year. If that’s you (or someone you know), you’ll need to head to this page to enter. Before you do, you’ll probably want to make sure you have a few things on hand.
For the entry process, you’ll need to share what your business is all about, why it’s important, how it gives back to the community, and what assistance you need to bring your business goals to life. You’ll also need to provide information about you and your company, including a business plan.
That might sound like a lot of work but the grand prize could make it all worth it. The winner will receive:
- R500,000 worth of advertising on Jacaranda FM,
- Conceptualisation, production, and creation of a radio advert, plus digital amplification,
- Six-week mentorship,
- Tailor-made business model,
- Research consultation,
- Branding consultation,
- Digital and PR consultation
Once the 30 initial entries are chosen and whittled down to the top 10 businesses, those finalists will be guaranteed airtime on Jacaranda FM to the value of R100,000.

The large advertising value of broadcasting to Jacaranda FM’s 1.3 million listeners is eye-catching, but the value of mentorship shouldn’t be overlooked. “Most participants found the mentorship value of the prize most appealing as they agree that mentorship from other successful women is hard to find. Our prize has mentorship baked in,” adds King.
If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to get your business off the ground with the help of successful women, this could be your shot. Entries close on 31 August.
