It’s making good use of the long weekend, squeezing in an extra day of gaming of all descriptions, pop culture events, cosplay, local and international celebrity meetups, tons of exhibitors peddling their goods, and side events like Streetcon and Kidscon… you get the idea, there’s a lot happening.

Stuff has multiple boots on the ground, trying to cover as much of the cool stuff as possible. We’ve already had a chance to play the brand-new Super Mario Bros. Wonder ahead of its official launch and so can you if you make your way to Hall 5 between now and Monday.
If Super Mario is a little too casual for you, you’ll probably be more interested in the pulse-quickening hard-fought competition taking place over the weekend. Here’s what you can expect from the esports professionals.

This year, Comic Con Africa has moved gaming to Hall 5 where the Telkom VS Gaming stage occupies an entire corner. Here’s where you’ll find the main stage that hosts the VS Gaming Masters season 8 playoffs in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
That’ll see Bravado Gaming, Nibble, Royalty Esports, Goliath Gaming, VYBN Esports, Nixuh, GFX MuscleMen, and KitsuneZA compete in a best-of-three single-elimination bracket over the next three days. The top two teams are going head-to-head in a best-of-five final on Monday, 25 September. Those who aren’t able to attend in person can watch the action unfold live on the Telkom VS Gaming Twitch stream.
The country’s best Rocket League teams are competing right next to the main stage in the VS Gaming Championship Season 3 playoffs. Water, Bird, White Rabbit Gaming, Monarch Realm, Unity Esports, Team Fusion, Reformed, and Red (yes, those are all team names) are vying for their spot in Sunday’s best-of-seven final. Still want to keep up but can’t make it? Telkom’s VS Gaming YouTube channel has you covered.
Also on offer in Hall 5 is the eDiski season 6 finals. Eight players from previous online open qualifier events will go head-to-head in FIFA 22 on PS5 consoles to claim their spot in the grand finals.
