Like every social media before it, Twitter is adding its own version of TikTok’s infinite video feed. Because why not? The app’s explore page is making some changes too, showing users “some of the most popular videos being shared on Twitter.”
You are not special
Twitter describes the TikTok-like feature as an “immersive media viewer”, a fancier way of saying it wants in on TikTok’s market. Tapping on any video in your feed will make it full screen. Scroll down and you’ll “start browsing more engaging video content.”
iOS will be the first to get the new video feed. Twitter said that users using the iOS app in English would be first in line for the update. Expect it to hit your device over the next few days. An Android release wasn’t mentioned – meaning you’re stuck with TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, or Reddit until then.

If infinite scrolling wasn’t enough, you’ll soon be able to check the Explore tab for videos you’ll never watch. They’re curated for you, based on past likes and retweets. The bird app has said this feature is already available on Android and iOS in “select countries using Twitter in English…” It looks like South Africa isn’t one of those countries, after checking on Stuff’s own Twitter account.
These changes won’t be the last we see of the app’s media ‘improvements’. “Keep your eyes on Twitter for more updates on how we’re working to improve your media experience,” added the social media platform.
