Xbox’s incoming Xbox Game Pass family plan could include the ability to share with friends as well, rather than just family members. There’s a catch: subscriptions may only be shared with family and friends in the same country. This isn’t a dealbreaker – far from it. In most cases, friends and family already share the same country.
Time to get an Xbox
The news comes from leaker Aggiornamenti Lumia, who tweeted out an image that showed the company’s potential branding for Game Pass. “Friends and Family” appears under the Game Pass logo, showing us where Xbox wants Game Pass to go.

Based on the artwork, the ability to share with others would only arrive with the ‘Ultimate’ tier of Game Pass. Considering the price of Ultimate is only R120/m, it makes it extremely cheap to split between yourself and four friends.
For the moment, this feature is only available to subscribers in Ireland and Columbia, with no word on when it’ll make its way to the rest of the world. If tests go well, we could potentially see the new feature pretty soon. Provided the branding image is indeed real, Microsoft may soon be close to officially announcing the update.
Now we just need to find four friends…
