Oppo is reportedly working on two new foldable smartphones and we could see them hit shelves later this year. The Oppo Find N was the company’s foray into the foldable smartphone world, and it’s ready to make the journey again. Twice.
The reports come from Digital Chat Station, which claims Oppo is working on a clamshell design, alongside a book-like design. This gives customers a choice of design when they’re looking to buy a new foldable. We’re sure Samsung’s not going to Flip about this at all.
Dragonfly
The first Oppo foldable phone is codenamed ‘Dragonfly’. No official name has been given for the phone just yet. Dragonfly will have a clamshell design and will feature a 120Hz refresh rate. The original report indicates that Oppo is focusing on making its handset slimmer than most other foldable phones.
There may also be a new type of hinge for the Dragonfly – presumably to reinforce it. To get an idea of what a clamshell design is, take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip above. The Dragonfly will end up having a similar look. There are only so many ways to make a clamshell-shaped smartphone (but try explaining that to Samsung’s patent lawyers).
Find N 2
The second possible foldable we could see is a successor to Oppo’s first, the Find N. Unsurprisingly, the successor will be named the Find N 2 and will feature a 120Hz refresh rate display.
As with the Dragonfly, Oppo will focus on reducing thickness and weight. It’s just a pity the original Find N never turned up here. We would have liked something to compare this one too.

Unfortunately, there’s not much other information to work with here. Reports do indicate that both rumoured phones may be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon and Mediatek Dimensity processors. It’s worth noting that this isn’t confirmed, and we could see slightly different specs when the phones do eventually launch.
Speaking of an eventual launch, we have no official dates confirmed for either the Find N 2 or Dragonfly. We do have an idea that the phones may release in the second half of this year.
