Registration for this All Star Gaming tournament opens today, 9 June. There will be three two-hour qualifiers every Saturday starting on 18 June. Each week will feature a different track and a new chance to qualify. If you don’t make the cut in the first week, you can try in the second or third, if need be.

The top teams from each week will progress to the finals held on 9 July and streamed on Incredible Connection’s Twitch channel. They will have to compete in a four-hour endurance race around a virtual Kyalami Grand Prix Circut. The winning team will walk away with the lion’s share of the R50,000 prize pool.

Assetto Corsa Competizione has been around since 2018. Since launch, it’s been an esports go-to racing simulator. It doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon either. In February this year, it received a sizable update for current-gen consoles.

If you’re looking to get into competitive sim racing we would suggest starting with this one and definitely get yourself a racing wheel. A controller isn’t going to cut it in the big leagues.

If you’re wanting to enter the tournament or just plan to keep track of the goings-on, you can do so on Mettlestates’s website here.
