FNB South Africa is getting into the November spirit, announcing monumental Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals throughout November, with discounts through its Connect and eBucks stores.
The bank said it would be offering up to 67% off through its range of Connect devices, while those shopping through the eBucks shop will see “unbelievable discounts on selected Samsung and Garmin NFC devices and watches…” Uh, where do we sign up? (Right here, apparently).
Something something FNB Connect
This year, FNB’s biggest deals appear to reserved for those spending on the bank’s range of Connect devices, which involve items like PS5s, iPads and smartphones, plus a bunch of others. It’s kicking off the exclusive discounts through the FNB Connect shop on Sunday, 12 November before heading back to normal on Monday, 4 December.
Sashin Sookroo, CEO of FNB Connect, says, “Smart devices and data are essential for tools that help our customers to connect, perform commerce or unwind. FNB Connect is helping bridge the digital divide enabling access to more affordable smart devices and data through relevant telecommunications solutions. Black Friday and Cyber Monday mark the beginning of a long festive season period, and we believe that our offers can help customers get access to powerful communication tools and better manage their money.”
Whatever the reasoning, it’s got some great deals to look forward to, including:
- Xiaomi Smart Air Fryer (3.5l) – R40/m on a 24-month contract, down from R120/m,
- Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite Wi-Fi – R100/m on a 24-month contract, down from R170/m,
- Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 40mm BT – R100/m on a 24-month contract, down from R180/m,
- Garmin Lily – R120/m on a 24-month contract, down from R200/m,
- Samsung Galaxy A24 Smartphone (+500MB Data pm) – R200/m on a 24-month contract, down from R320/m.
FNB mentioned that there would be additional Connect Black Friday deals in the FNB Connect Shop, but failed to say what those could be. It’ll be worth taking a look once the deals go live on Sunday, 12 November.
That’s not it for Connect deals, though. FNB is hosting a special one-day-only promotion on Friday, 24 November to celebrate the bank’s upcoming 185th birthday, “where customers will have an exclusive opportunity to grab three remarkable devices each for R185 per month.” The catch? There’ll only be 185 units available for each device, so you’ll want to be quick about adding them to your cart.
Here are the R185/m deals going live on the FNC Connect shop, Friday, 24 November:
- PlayStation 5 (+2 games) – R185/m on a 36-month contract,
- Samsung Galaxy A54 5G 256GB (+Burtone Lifestyle Speaker) – R185/m on a 36-month contract,
- iPad 9 64GB WIFI – R185/m on a 24-month contract.
eBuck-naked deals
Unfortunately, FNB didn’t delve into any details about any specific devices customers would save on through the eBucks shop but did give us a hint.
“The eBucks Black Friday deals kick off from 24 November to 27 November 2023, where FNB and RMB Private Bank customers will get unbelievable discounts on selected Samsung and Garmin NFC devices and watches when shopping through the eBucks Shop on the app.”
It went on to say that customers purchasing either an Apple iPhone or Watch through the Partner shop on the FNB app will earn an additional 5,000 back in eBucks over the Black Friday weekend (24-27 November).
“Additionally, our customers can enjoy our summer deals from 1 November to 31 December, with discounts on all airlines or routes through eBucks Travel, earn extra eBucks by shopping every weekend at Clicks.”
