Apple announced a whole mess of new products at its Spring Loaded event, which isn’t all that surprising. Typically, we were made to wait for local pricing for the new crop of devices but that wait is over. Apple’s local arm has pricing for the new purple iPhone, the speedy new M1-powered iPad Pros, the refreshed Apple TV (plus the new remote) and the AirTags.
All of the devices are currently available for pre-order, so if you must have that purple handset, best you act quickly before everyone else has one.
Apple’s TV and AirTags
The new Apple TV is coming, as well as the updated remote. The 6th-gen Apple TV HD 32GB will set you back R2,700, the TV 4K 2nd-gen 32GB is R3,200 and the TV 4K 2nd-gen 64GB is R3,600. Honestly, there’s no reason not to opt for the 64GB model. But if you’re happy with what you’ve got and just want the updated remote, that’ll cost you R1,100.
Purple iPhones and M1 iPad Pros
Want a new M1-powered iPad Pro? Depending on what you’re looking for, you’ll pay anywhere between R14,000 and R42,000 for one of Apple’s new tablets. The iPad Pro 11in runs from R14,000 for the 128GB/WiFi-only version and climbs all the way up to R38,000 for the 2TB/WiFi+Cellular models — in various shades, of course. If you’re in the market for a new 12.9in iPad Pro packing an M1 processors, you’ll find them from R19,700 for the 128GB/WiFi-only model, all the way up to that huge R42,000 tag for the 2TB/WiFi+Cellular version. That’s a lot to pay for an iPad but that’s also a whole lot of storage to play with.
