Now there are reports that Apple has a curved smartphone in development

LG’s done it, Samsung’s done it, now there are reports that Apple is looking to get in on the action. The fruit-emblazoned company is apparently working on curved displays for a future iPhone, according to a report from Bloomberg.

The reports cites an anonymous source “familiar with the [company’s] plans” and says that Apple has got two new smartphones headed our way in the second half of 2014. The new handsets will apparently feature larger displays than is usual for the company and the screens will also “curve downwards at the edges”, putting the handsets in the same category as LG’s G Flex and Samsung’s Galaxy Round devices.

The two curved phones will reportedly carry 4.7 and 5.5-inch displays, somewhat of a deviation for Apple. Apple declined to comment when queried on the phones but the anonymous source says that the devices, while not yet complete, will probably make an appearance in Q3 2014.
