FNB app debuts vehicle, house, services marketplace and more features

First National Bank (FNB) has consistently been adding features to its digital platform to make banking with it more valuable in a few ways. One of its main products established via the mobile app is FNB nav, which offers a few features designed to help users navigate their money, and, in some cases, life in general.

FNB nav’s the new Gumtree

Now, nav will feature a marketplace for property, vehicles and services. It’s been promoting this functionality for about a year, launching its marketplace in November 2020. Now its fleshed out the offering, making more houses, vehicles and services available via the app.

“In addition to our existing lifestyle offering which includes Telco and Travel on the FNB App, the smart nav» tools demonstrate our commitment to delivering contextual innovations to our Retail and Commercial customers via our trusted digital platform. As an integrated financial services provider, we believe that there is a great opportunity to create smart connections among customers through our dynamic data capabilities and single secure platform. This is all enabled through the power of being a platform business,” says FNB CEO Jacques Cilliers.

This means the marketplace will now include a new car peer-to-peer marketplace that’ll function in a similar way to the property marketplace currently on the app.

“The car peer-to-peer marketplace allows customers to list their vehicles in minutes, get an instant value estimate to ensure they are not selling for too little, and chat securely with thousands of WesBank pre-selected potential buyers. In the future, the marketplace will ramp up to include WesBank’s trusted dealer network for a holistic car experience to benefit customers,” a press release details.

Small businesses and gig-workers that have FNB business accounts can also easily list their services in the Marketplace, gain exposure through the app and receive direct payments from customers.

In addition, the app will now allow users the ability to get a quick look at their net worth and make cash/eBucks donations to good causes via the nav» Care feature.
