The Huawei Watch Fit launches on Thursday, here’s how to pre-order it

We at Stuff really enjoy a good smart watch. Can you blame us? They just feel so… futuristic! Deputy editor Marcé is a big fan of strapping technology to her wrists, often strolling about the office with a smart watch on either arm, and Stuff‘s editor Brett… we think he likes them too but that’s a statement we’re sure will be edited when he eventually sees this [Yes, he does and no, it won’t — Ed].

Out of all the smartwatches we’ve tried, and there’ve been plenty, the ones that often stand out belong to Huawei, for their stylish design and robust functionality. We’re in the process of testing the Huawei Watch Fit (and enjoying it quite a bit!) so you can expect a proper review soonish. If you’re already sold on the idea on a fitness-focused smart watch then you’ll be stoked to learn that it’s officially launching on 1 October, or this Thursday, and you can pre-order it now.

Deal with it

Pre-orders for the Huawei Watch Fit have opened and the company is offering quite a deal for anyone that wants to take the leap. You can pre-order it from the Huawei Store for R3,000, which will also net you a Huawei Smart Scale valued at R900. Considering that most people interested in a fitness watch will need a scale to continuously check their progress, it’s a pretty sweet deal.

The Huawei Watch Fit is the company’s first fitness-centric smartwatch and includes a “variety of animated fitness courses, workout modes and scientific health tracking features” such as a sleep monitor, stress tracking and an instant message reminder. Granted, that last one isn’t a ‘health tracking’ feature but it’s still nice to have. Best of all, the Huawei Watch Fit will supposedly last for 10 days on a single charge which is a pretty decent length of time. About average for something from Huawei’s stable, though. How do they do that…? (Jokes, we know how it works.)
