Stuff South Africa

Stuff’s Gadget and App Award winners are…

Here at Stuff Towers we spend an inordinate amount of time fiddling with gadgets, apps, robot vacuum cleaners, IP cameras, action cameras, regular cameras, and anything else we can get our mitts on. The downside of this is trying to keep track of the batteries and cables that come with them, the upshot is you get the distilled knowledge gleaned from our collective experience and the many hours spent ignoring the instruction manual (reading one is a fireable offence, after all).

At the end of each year we argue about who should win what and, once the dust has settled and the bruises have healed, we type up a list and run it in the magazine. For those of you who missed it — or like a searchable, digital version — here follows the winners of the annual Stuff Gadget and App Awards for 2016.

Last year we also decided to open the voting to you, our readers, and we took your votes into account for every category. Pleasingly, you lot agreed with us by and large. And because apps have become at least as important as the gear that runs them, we’ve also decided to give out separate categories and awards for them. The details of which local app won what follow below, too.

So, without further ado, here are winners (the clickable bits will take you through to a review or more info on them):
