FNB customers get support for scanning Zapper QR codes

FNB scan to pay

FNB has added yet another feature to its already brimming mobile app. Zapper QR code support is the latest digital contactless payment method to be added to the app after the bank added numerous services and features to the nav tab recently, contactless payment support for virtual cards as well as support in other digital wallets and Apple Pay support. It’s been a busy year for the FNB app dev team.

The bank said, “All FNB and RMB Private Bank customers can conveniently scan QR codes from the major QR code providers in South Africa using the Scan to Pay feature on their banking App.”

“In the past 12 months alone, we have experienced a 725% growth in FNB Pay enabled digital payments volumes, with continued growth month-on-month,” says FNB retail CEO Raj Makanjee, according to MyBroadBand.

What’s next, FNB?

Going by those numbers, things are looking good for the bank and Makanjee and his department in particular. He also said that he and his team will always be looking for ways to improve the customers’ digital payment options through the FNB app.

Jason Viljoen, head of digital payments, explains that users can set up a shortcut on the device home screens for a quick and convenient way to scan a Zapper QR code. Users can find a detailed guide on setting up QR code scanning on their iPhone or Android device on FNB’s website.
