Elon Musk registers trademarks for Tesla-themed Giga Beer, because of course he did

We should probably know by now that if Elon Musk announces a strange product, it’s probably coming to life. The latest is Giga Beer, a beer based on the Tesla brand — because associating drinking with driving makes perfect sense.

Actually, it might in this case. Musk first introduced the idea of a Tesla beer while on the site of the coming German Gigafactory. Germany is known for several things but we mainly talk about its beer and its automobiles. Nobody really connects the two. It’s Germany. You’re supposed to have beer. It’s the law.

Giga Beer to become reality

Musk, speaking at the event, said, “We’re going to build a train station that’s right on the property. And then we’re going to have graffiti murals all throughout the factory, on the outside and everything. So I think that’s going to be pretty cool. We’ve got some of them already. And we’re even going to have a beer.”

Just like when Elon Musk was talking about a Tesla surfboard, Tesla tequila (‘Teslaquila‘, which is very hard to get your hands on), the Boring Company’s flamethrower, or the red satin shorts the head of Tesla and SpaceX used to make fun of those shorting his stock, it’s all eventually come to market. There’s no reason why Giga Beer (or Giga Bier, in Germany) should be any different.

Tesla, at the very least, has registered the trademark for both products. Heading over to the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s (USPTO) website and pop either term into its Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS) and you’ll see that Tesla filed for trademarks for both the American (presumably) and German versions of Giga. This doesn’t give us any idea a) when it’s coming or b) what it’ll taste like, but it’ll probably show up. And then sell out almost immediately, knowing Tesla fans.
