Samsung’s next Unpacked is likely to land on 11 August (at 16:00 local time)

Unpacked August 2021 leak

What with all of the leaks recently, and the total failure of any hardware to make an appearance at MWC, we’ve been expecting an Unpacked event from Samsung for some time now. Finally, we can put a date and time on it, thanks to a new leak from the guy who always knows what Samsung is up to, Evan Blass.

If you want to know what Samsung’s up to for (most of) the rest of the year, you’ll be able to tune in on 11 August, at 16:00 South African Standard Time (SAST) — at least, that’s what Blass’ image says.

Leaks, unpacked

Which tracks, more or less, with how Samsung has done things of late. Last year’s second Unpacked took place in early August at… well, whaddaya know, 16:00 SAST. Of course, then we had a lot more notice that it was happening, whereas here, Samsung hasn’t even sent out any invitations yet. Blass’ leaked image also bears a strong resemblance to an earlier-in-2021 invite — though a little less riotously colourful. Which is fine, considering what Samsung’s supposed to be announcing.

We’re supposed to be getting a look at Samsung’s newest pair of folding smartphones, the Galaxy Buds 2, its newest range of smartwatches, and just possibly a little time with the Galaxy S21 FE. Details for all of these have turned up in recent weeks — enough so that Samsung might as well not bother with an event and just send everyone an email saying they’re on sale. But if you want to confirm all the leaks, tune in on 11 August at 16:00 — we’ll be watching, because that’s what we do.
