After what feels like months (okay, maybe it was months), the South African iStore has announced official pricing for the incoming iPhone 12 range of devices. Other retailers have previously announced that the devices will land on 18 December, and the same is true for iStores, both physical and online.
iPhone, you phone the bank
As expected, the smaller of the fam, the iPhone 12 Mini comes in at the lowest price, just R16,000 for the 64GB variation. Of course, 64GB is hardly enough to get by so scaling up to the larger storage options and you’ll be paying R17,500 for the 128GB and R20,000 for the 265GB variations.
On to the base iPhone 12 device, these are priced closer to the predecessors, coming in at R20,000 for 64GB, going up to R22,500 for the 265GB variation. These feature a 6.1in OLED display, is powered by the A14 Bionic (as is the Mini), features 5G capability and comes equipped with MagSafe.
On to the bigger siblings, the iPhone 12 Pro doesn’t come in the (pretty dismal) 64GB option, which is a welcome feature, but starting at R23,500 for the 128GB variation seems slightly steep. The 265GB variant comes in at R26,000 while the 512GB option will cost you R30,500.
The iPhone 12 Pro Max will obviously cost anyone keen on it a tiny fortune, so we hope you’ve been saving up that birthday money. Remember that this is Apple’s flagship photography phone, so keep that in mind when we tell you these start out at R26,000 for 128GB and goes up to R33,000 for 512GB.
iStore South Africa has been bolstering its purchase options, so you don’t necessarily need cash if you’re interested in the latest and greatest iPhone tech.
“Customers have the choice of purchasing for cash or upgrading their MTN, Vodacom or Telkom contract at iStores nationwide or online… Trade-in online or in-store and get up to R12,000 back…” the press release states.
So basically, you can bring in your old iPhone, and based on the current value, iPhone will take it off your hands (along with some cash) and present you with a brand new iPhone 12. All of the offers will be available online and in-store from 18 December 2020.
