It’s pretty frustrating to figure out who gets to own the shared Spotify account especially when your Discover Weekly algorithm is becoming more and more confused by the wildly different music selections. Fortunately, Spotify has a solution for all you that might experience this problem as it ushers into existence Premium Duo.
Premium Duo, as you might expect, is described as being for “two people living at the same home address”. Both subscribers in the package will be able to access their own separate Premium accounts while also gaining access to a specialised, and exclusive, Duos Mix, a playlist that pulls together songs enjoyed by both people so that you can enjoy them together.

We are thrilled to bring this unique Spotify Premium plan to even more markets around the world.”
The Premium accounts included in the Premium Duo package have all the features of a regular Premium subscription, including no ads, downloadable content and access to millions of different songs and podcasts.
Spotify Premium Duo will cost R80 per month, so R20 more than a single Premium package. It’s not a bad price if you and a significant other or…roommate, I guess, want to listen to some shared favourites together but still retain separate accounts. It’s also cheaper than a Family Account which costs R100 per month. It’s a but late for Valentine’s Day, but it’s still a nice option.
