FNB Connect cuts data prices up to 55%, customers will get 1GB data free

First National Bank’s mobile offering FNB Connect has announced reduced data rates, and is giving all of its customers 1GB data for free. Because we’re all in lockdown and a little data goes a long way right now.

It also announced that users on FNB Connect Lifestyle plans will receive double their allocated amount of data. For example, customers on the Top Up XS Lifestyle contract will now receive 200MB of data instead of 100MB for R50, in addition to 30 voice minutes and 30 SMSes.

Starting this weekend, all FNB Connect customers will also receive 1GB of free data, thanks to the nationwide lockdown. This bundle will be valid for 30 days from activation, so that’s a month’s free data for you to use at will. “This lockdown data allocation is in addition to the Free Connect allocations that customers with qualifying transactional accounts receive monthly,” the press release states.

“This will enable our customers to save on telco spend, which is a regular feature in household budgets. Access to affordable and free data goes a long way in assisting our customers to navigate difficult times and is also aligned to our ethos of offering real help when it’s needed the most,” says Raj Makanjee, FNB Retail CEO.

These are some nice freebies and data price reductions, but there’s even more. The prices of data bundles on the network has been reduced significantly (MTN and Vodacom eat your heart out). From now on, a 1GB data bundle on FNB Connect will only cost R60 (down from R105). Check out the FNB Connect data price reductions below.
