Unlike Christmas music in retail stores, there’s at least one thing to look forward to in early December — and that’s Spotify Wrapped. Every year the music streaming service looks at your past listening habits and creates a summary of what you’ve been up to. Even if it includes some embarrassing entries.
That happened this week — with personalised ‘Your Top Songs’ playlists for premium users, it announced the Best Of lists, which showed that Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande were among the most streamed artists worldwide. Sure, those stats are interesting but not as interesting as your guilty pleasure song making the top of your list.
*fingers crossed* “Don’t be Post Malone”
If you’re a Premium subscriber, you can find the pink Wrapped card in “Search” on mobile. If you’re on desktop — head to the Spotify Wrapped site and log in to your account. The Wrapped infographics will show you who your top five artists were, which genres you enjoy listening to and what countries most of your music originates from. ‘Your Top Songs 2019’ will host 100 of your favourite songs, according to Spotify.
Depending on how embarrassing your stats look, you can share them on social media, and apparently #SpotifyWrapped is trending on Twitter in SA. So, as Shia LeBeouf would say: just do it.
