Twitter finally lets you stuff GIFs, images, and videos in a single tweet

Twitter

Social media platform Twitter finally lets users share photos, videos, and GIFs in one tweet — it’s about time.

If you’ve never tried adding multimedia to a single tweet,  Twitter would allow you to share a single type of media per tweet.

Mixing different types of visual content together in a single Tweet allows creators to “express themselves more creatively on Twitter beyond 280 characters,” the platform said in a statement.

The new feature will be available in the app on Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS platforms.

“Some of you on iOS and Android will also see recommended content in a new video carousel on the Explore For You page,” says Twitter.

Give the people what they want

It seems fair to say Twitter is finally giving people what they want. In 2017, Twitter finally doubled the text character limit from 140 to 280 characters.

But it’s making South Africans wait for its most asked-for feature, an edit button. Hopefully, we’re on the shortlist to receive that update. It is currently only available to Twitter Blue users in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
