Take another look at the huge, notched Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra in fresh leak

We’ve been expecting Samsung to launch a tablet in the Galaxy Tab S8 lineup for almost a year now. In February 2021, Samsung dropped the dime on an upcoming Enterprise version of the slate. Then, in October last year, we saw the upcoming 14.6in Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra thanks to leaked CAD files.

Now, basically every little detail concerning Samsung’s set of slates for 2022 has been uncovered, thanks to the German website WinFuture. The leak confirms that the upcoming Ultra is set to be humongous. It also spilt the beans on all the other tablets due for an announcement.

Samsung’s going big. Really big

The big deal, obviously, is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. All of the talks from October 2021 seems confirmed, with additional info thrown in. That is: there’s a 14.6in tablet coming. It’ll have a front notch, and dual 12MP cameras. But then there’s the new info.

That massive display is set to run at 120Hz, with a resolution of 2,960 x 1,848. Spec will see the tablet sporting up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. A Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC will power the whole lot, and there’s an 11,400mAh battery to look forward to. Adding a keyboard cover should turn this thing into a dandy laptop replacement — which may be the main point.

Then there are the other two — the Galaxy Tab S8 Plus and the Galaxy Tab S8. You’ll notice we’ve used just a single image here. That’s because the two tablets, despite their size differences, will look identical. And they’ll also share some spec on the inside. Both the smaller tablets will feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipsets, but they’ll have different specs elsewhere.

Samsung’s Tab S8 Plus is supposed to have a 12.7in Super AMOLED display, running at 2,800 x 1,752. It’ll apparently have a single 12MP snapper up front, and a 10,090mAh battery. The standard Tab S8 is also the smallest, with an 11in TFT display (2,560 x 1,600) and an 8,000mAh battery supposedly in the offing. Both of these will max out, in terms of spec, at 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. All three tablets are supposed to feature a 13MP + 6MP (ultrawide) rear camera arrangement as well.

If true, and there’s really no reason to think that every word of this isn’t completely accurate, then all we’re really missing is the price. And availability, of course. The soonest we’ll have all of this confirmed is 9 February, which is the rumoured date for Samsung’s first Unpacked event for 2022. We expect to see more than a few reveals take place then.
