If you’re hauling around at least 600 Twitter followers, then you’re newly eligible to host a Spaces session using either the Android or iOS version of the app. Soon you too can talk into the void in the hopes that your followers will tune in.
The Spaces between us
Twitter also has a basic rundown of what the service’s audio er… areas entail. It’s a little like a Twitch chat room, except you can hear people speaking, and invitations can be sent to specific people, or to listeners, so that they can speak in your Space as well. If all goes well, you’ve got yourself a little live podcast going. If all goes terribly, you’ll just be talking to yourself.
And if you haven’t hit the follower count (yet)? Never fear, you can join any going Spaces and participate as a listener for the moment. Twitter intends to make the feature more widely available as it figures out exactly how it’s all supposed to work.
