Donald Trump will return to social media, says aide

Donald Trump

Donald Trump is planning a comeback to social media, according to his former adviser, Jason Miller.

In an interview with Fox News, Miller said that ‘The Don’ will make an appearance back on social media in the next few months, will his own platform, which Miller has billed as “the hottest ticket in social media”.

“I do think that we’re going to see President Trump returning to social media in probably about two or three months,” Miller said.

Donald Trump’s return

Trump was kicked off Facebook and Twitter at the beginning of the year after protests against the results of the 2020 presidential election on the 6th of January, which saw the Capitol Building stormed by an angry mob and politicians evacuated. Five people, including a police officer were killed in the attack.

While Trump’s deplatforming raises some rather interesting – and disturbing – questions about free speech, its has made him less of a global presence in the months since his ban.

Apart from a rather heated speech at C-PAC in which he reiterated his belief that the US election was stolen from him and his supporters (a claim the Supreme Court has thrown out), Trump has been keeping a rather low profile of late.

Well, it was probably too good to last.
