Apple’s Watch Series 4 GPS priced for SA, pre-orders open 21 September

Hopefully you’ve got some cash tucked away for a brand new Apple Watch Series 4 GPS (the edition that we’re going to be getting here in South Africa — till local operators figure out eSIMs). Local distributor iStore announced yesterday evening that Watch Series 4 pre-orders will be opening on 21 September — which, if you’re paying attention, is tomorrow.

Buyers will be able to order the Watch Series 4 GPS (40mm and 44mm variants) as well as the Apple Watch Nike+ Series 4 GPS from iStore tomorrow, either as a cash buy or part of their FNB Credit Card payment plan. Whichever you choose, the Watch Series 4 GPS will be available in SA from 28 September, alongside the iPhone XS and XS Max… except for the Nike+ version, which will land here on 5 October.

Which brings us to the price of admission. If you’re after the 40mm Watch Series 4 GPS, you can expect to pay R7,999, with the 44mm version costing R8,599. The iStore is also offering up to R2,400 off the purchase price to buyers who trade in their older editions of the Apple Watch.

Keen? Apple’s newest wristwear can be pre-ordered from the iStore website from tomorrow, 21 September, after which your device will be delivered when it launches.
