Apple’s iPhone 7, 7 Plus PRODUCT(RED) Edition priced for South Africa

Hey, remember when Apple dropped a few surprises on us and announced a new red-coloured iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in addition to a set of tablet refreshes? Yeah, those red-coloured PRODUCT(RED) handsets will be coming to South Africa after all.

The (RED) Edition of the iPhone 7 range is part of an ongoing Apple partnership with (RED), which raises funds for the Global Fund. The Global Fund is dedicated to HIV and AIDS research but if you’re not too concerned with the altruism, the red iPhone 7 looks pretty damned awesome as it is.

As is normal for iPhone in South Africa, the PRODUCT(RED) Edition of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available from the iStore. The handsets will only be available in 128GB and 256GB flavours and will start at R13,500.

To get more specific, the red iPhone 7 will cost R13,500 for the 128GB version and R15, 500 for the 256GB version. Upsize your handset to the Plus and you’re paying R16,000 for the 128GB iPhone 7 Plus, topping out at R18,000.

Now what we don’t know is exactly when it launches. As is also customary, we’re probably going to find out at very short notice — because nothing drives sales like being told at the last second that everyone else is about to buy up all the available stock. We’ll let you know when the handset is available the moment we know.
