Apple releases iOS 8.1.1 and Mac OS X 10.10.1 updates to address various issues

iOS 8If your experience with iOS 8 on an iPhone 4s or iPad 2 has been less than stellar over the past couple months, Apple’s latest update might improve your day-to-day interactions.

The just-released iOS 8.1.1 update claims better performance for those devices, the oldest supported by iOS 8, along with various bug fixes and stability improvements. It’s a small update, at 64.7MB, but hopefully a meaningful one for those users.

Today’s OS X 10.10.1 update for Yosemite users definitely should be beneficial, at least, as it claims to address the significant Wi-Fi dropping issues that have plagued many Mac owners of late.

Several other fixes are noted, as well, such as addressing issues with Microsoft Exchange servers and other email providers, as well as problems with Notification Center, the Mac App Store, and the ability to enter Japanese text.

Also, the 3rd-generation Apple TV was updated today to 7.0.2 with performance and stability updates, but that hardly sounds like the kind of urgent assist that those others can provide.
