Samsung’s Galaxy Tab Pro, Galaxy Note Pro lineup in detail

Samsung has officially announced the PRO series of devices that were prematurely leaked by a large banner at CES 2014 in Las Vegas. The Galaxy Tab Pro is the varied portion of the announcement and the tablet line will be available in 8-inch, 10.1-inch and 12.2-inch sizes on release. The Galaxy Note Pro, in keeping with the Note’s tendency to be bigger than the rest, will only be available in the 12.2-inch form factor.

All of the new products will share certain features, notably the displays which will all clock in at 2,560 x 1,600. They will also have 8MP rear cameras, Android 4.4, WiFi and LTE flavours and 2MP front cameras in common, as well as Samsung’s new Magazine home-screen user interface (which looks like Windows 8 and Flipboard’s illegitimate child). All of the tablets will be packing Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 processor, though some markets and/or models will be getting Exynos 5 Octa processors instead. How this will be split up isn’t known yet.

The 8-inch and 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab Pro share other specs, both featuring 2GB of system memory and either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage (with expansion card support) though the 10.1-incher has the larger battery of the pair. The two 12.2-inch tablets will both up system memory to 3GB and larger batteries to power those oversized tablet displays.

It looks as though the four new tablets will become available some time in the next few months but there is no official release date or pricing announced as yet.
