You know why we’re here. We know why you’re here. Incredible has just announced official local pricing for the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max. We’ve already covered the first two, shocking ourselves to learn that the price had gone down from 2023’s iPhone 15 figures. You’ll be happy to know that’s the case here, too.
The Pros and Maxes of the iPhone 16
Well, “happy” might not be the right word, but you get what we were going for. You’ll still need to whip out nearly R43,000 to get the most expensive iPhone 16 Pro Max into your eagerly awaiting hands. Unfortunately, even if you can pull that sort of dough out of thin air, you’ll need to wait until they arrive next week Friday 20 September.
It’s not all bad news, though. Pre-orders opened this afternoon at 14h00 and while the R43,500 price we mentioned for the 1TB-boasting iPhone 16 Pro Max might look daunting, it’s a whole lot less scary than it looks. Kicking things off is the cheapest of the Pros – the iPhone 16 Pro (128GB) – you’ll only need to pay R26,500.

But really, who can live with 128GB of storage nowadays? You’ll need to opt for the 256GB model at the very least, setting you back R29,000. Simply looking to flex? The 512GB variant can help do exactly that, going for R35,000. Unlike the basic 16 and 16 Plus those mere mortals are walking around with, the Pro offers a terabyte of storage, which can be had if you’re willing to pay the measly R40,000 asking price.
Now we’re getting to the really good stuff. The iPhone 16 Pro Max, which reps the latest and greatest A18 Pro chipset, nearly 7in Super Retina XDR display, and a starting storage of 256GB demands a fitting price. How does R31,800 sound? Or R37,000 for double that at 512GB? Apple’s once again left out a 2TB solution, unfortunately, meaning you’ll have to make do with the 1TB model, currently going for R42,500.
