Twitter’s work on NFT integration is coming along nicely

It’s no secret that Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is a big advocate for NFTs and cryptocurrencies. Now, apparently, he’s looking for ways to bring these features to his platform. According to several sources, including Mada Aflak, a software engineer working on the feature, the platform is working on integrating your NFTs into Twitter and even allowing you to display them as your profile picture.

The video shows how you’ll be able to connect your wallet and download your NFTs or set them as your profile picture or banner profile. They’ll even come with a little mark that shows they’ve been verified on the blockchain, the Ethereum blockchain in this case.

You’ll also get a new tab on your profile where all your NFTs will be displayed for everyone that visits your profile to see how cool you are.

Twitter is the latest NFT gallery?

Reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong has shown what the collectables tab might look like for someone wanting to view yours.

Her tweet shows that users may be able to check out NFTs in greater detail and view its detailed information, like description, info on the creator and info on the collection with a simple horizontal swipe. This hasn’t been officially revealed by Twitter yet so it might be a good idea to take it with the prescribed salt, as it may change a few times before it launches.

The fact that this feature is gaining this much traction might be cool if you have already bought into the whole NFT and crypto craze going around but it might be a better idea to first have a look at making it easier for folks to stop the spread of misinformation like with Birdwatch

Heard of it? Well, let’s fix that first and then we can worry about adding pictures of a digital monkey to our profile.
