Apple concedes and will fix iPhone 13 bug
Some Apple fans are a little upset of late, and for good reason. Imagine waiting a whole year to upgrade from your iPhone 12 Pro Max and Apple Watch Series 6 to the shiny new iPhone 13 Pro Max and Watch Series 7 on day one, only to find that you might have been better off waiting a week or two. There’s a bug going around at the moment that is blocking users from unlocking their iPhone 13 with their Apple Watch. When users attempt to unlock their device with their watch they typically receive a notification that says “unable to communicate with Apple Watch.”
The good news is that Apple is aware of the problem and have said it is working on a fix. The not-so-good news is that they didn’t give a definite timeframe for when. Until the patch is out users will need to disable the feature by going to Settings > Face ID & Passcode. This might have come as a bit of a shock to some Apple fans that are used to their equipment working well or even better after an update. For others, like Microsoft fans, it’s just another Monday.

Production for HBO’s of The Last of Us is in full swing
Early this morning, we got our first official look at HBO’s live-action adaptation of Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed The Last of Us, and oh boy does it look good. We’re trying not to get too carried away just yet because it’s only a single still image that shows the backs of Joel and Ellie’s heads in front of a large green field. But seeing as you spend much of the first game staring at the back of Joel’s head, and Ellie’s in the second, we’re glad the show gets the look right.
The TV show, which started filming in July this year, is set to air sometime in July 2022. The show will feature Pedro Pascal from The Mandalorian as Joel and Bella Ramsey from Game of Thrones as Ellie. The show, which started filming in Canada, is said to be the largest in Canadian television history. It is HBO’s first series based on a video game and is a collaboration between HBO, Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, Naughty Dog, The Mighty Mint, and Word Games. The writer and director of both games, Neil Druckmann, will reprise those roles for the show and serve as executive producer. The composer for the games, Gustavo Santaolalla, will compose the score for the show as well.

If you use Chrome, you should really update it ASAP
On Friday, Google released a security patch for its Chrome web browser which fixed a zero-day security issue. The ‘zero-day’ classification just means that Google found this out after it was live, which means potential hackers could have exploited it before Google released its patch. Which is obviously bad. This exploit affects Windows, Linux and macOS users alike so if you have the Chrome web browser installed on your PC, laptop or Mac, we suggest you update it as soon as you’re able.
Google didn’t give a whole lot of details about the flaw and how it works or where exactly the vulnerability lies, which is a smart move. It’s probably better not to advertise to would-be hackers exactly where your weak points are. But there isn’t any need to panic. Google has released a fix that should be automatically downloaded and installed. To check if you’ve received it on your device navigate to Settings > Help > About Google Chrome. If your Chrome version is 94.0.4606.61 or higher, you are safe. If not, click on Update Google Chrome in the settings menu and don’t forget to restart your browser for it to take effect.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
The MacBook Air is rumoured to receive an upgrade soon
According to MacRumors, Apple is planning to start mass production on the upgraded MacBook Air late next year. Changes include a complete redesign with a more powerful Apple silicon and a mini-LED display. While that doesn’t exactly sound like a ‘complete redesign’ on its own, the thinner and lighter enclosure, two of the new USB-4 ports and a MagSafe charging help the MacBook Air’s case. YouTuber and Apple leaker Jon Prosser showed off some renders of the MacBook Air in a variety of colours in a video on his YouTube channel Front Page Tech.
MacBook Airs got Apple’s new M1 chip last year in November so does this mean next year we’ll see the M2 chip? Will Apple call it something else entirely? Who knows. There have also been rumours that Apple will be updating more of its MacBook lineup before the end of the year. We were expecting to hear more about this at Apple’s event, but all we got was a new watch, the iPhone 13 and a new iPad mini. Now it doesn’t seem like the MacBook Air will be one of those updated this year which makes sense with the whole global chip shortage and all. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
