Everyone’s favourite action cam just got an upgrade. GoPro has just announced the Hero 10 Black cam, and considering how much we loved the previous iteration, we can’t wait to get our hands on this tiny shooter.
Go, go GoPro gadget
Equipped with a brand new GP2 processor, the Hero 10 Black comes with increased shooting capabilities and functions. This includes, as we suspected in the previous rumours, capturing 5.3K resolution footage at 60fps, or the ability to shoot at 4K and 120fps. Of course, these ultra-fast shooting abilities are ideal for GoPro’s target audience: action sports aficionados.
The previous flagship (the GoPro Hero 9 Black, if you’re struggling to count backwards), features 5K30 and 4K60 configs — so there’s a definite resolution upgrade here. The brand also shows off some of its wireless tech functionality — like uploading footage directly to the cloud and integration with its trusty old Quik app.
Here you also get the latest iteration of the company’s stabilisation tech called Hypersmooth 4. And looking at the evidence in the reveal video, we’d say it works well. Of course, the cam’s transformer-esque ability to accept a multitude of attachments makes an appearance.
The best part of this upgrade? We’re betting that’s the new processor. GoPro hasn’t made an effort to update the action cam’s processor since the Hero 6 — so we’re expecting much better performance overall here. Of course, we’d need our hands on it if we’re gonna do the proper test.
