What’s the point of owning a social media platform and not implementing some sort of shopping feature? You’re reaching all of these users, right? Might as well… make some cash while doing it. Now Linktree — the mini website platform used to group a few links together (thanks Instagram) — has partnered with PayPal to offer in-app payment services.
PayPal’s Linktree getting taller
Hailed as one of the most popular ‘link-in-bio’ services, Linktree already allows creators to monetise their content and/or products and services via something called Commerce Links. Right now, it functions as a nifty hub where creators and brands can host a list of several links to separate web pages, while users can make payments to those creators right on the page.

This will add one more payment option to users in countries that accept PayPal, where they’ll be able to pay for products and services, tips and donations and any unique requests.
“As the creator economy grows, creators want new ways to collect payments and support from their audience with as little friction as possible. We are excited to be collaborating with PayPal to further expand our solutions to our users globally and enable them to further manage and monetize their digital presence,” says Alex Zaccaria, co-founder and CEO of Linktree.
The platform’s users will now just be able to connect their PayPal accounts and easily get paid by visitors to their profiles through PayPal as well as debit and credit cards.
