Afrihost cuts DSL prices, offers uncapped broadband for under R300

Afrihost

There’s a very cool thing happening with local ISPs at the moment that involves upgraded speeds and lower prices across the board. Well, mostly across the board; Vumatel isn’t all that keen on cutting its customers a break. Afrihost on the other hand is trying to do right by its users by slashing the price of its DSL packages by quite a margin. This is all thanks to those speed upgrades implemented by Openserve which is reducing the cost of its copper network all around. This is certainly nice if you haven’t been upgraded to fibre at this point (you should really look into that if you can).

Be a good Afrihost

With Openserve upgrading its DSL packages, folks accessing the lines through Afrihost have some decent prices to look forward to. It used to be that you were paying R447 a month for an uncapped 5mbps second line but that price has been slashed down to R297 per month. That’s not too shabby and that’s only where the deals start. R397pm will get you a 10mbps line (down from R697) or you could go for the two pricier options: R597pm for a 20mbps line (was R795pm) or R697pm for a 40mbps line (was R997pm).

Even better, all of these above deals are still completely free of any and all throttling or data caps. “There are no usage thresholds so you can use as much data as you like, whenever you like. No throttling or shaping will be applied,” said Afrihost to MyBroadband. If you’re a new user, Afrihost will also front the R999 installation fee which is certainly a nice bonus.
