Elon Musk tweets out, “#DeleteFacebook”, his reasoning being that “it’s lame”

Elon Musk, the man of a thousand innovative ideas and a thousand less innovate tweets, is once again back to his usual antics on the Twitterverse. This time, he’s teamed up with actor and writer Sasha Baron Cohen in an effort to take down Facebook. Just by being exceptionally rude about Mark Zuckerberg’s social media platform.

Facebook isn’t exactly a new target for criticism, as many have rallied against the site following numerous privacy breaches and a general lack of policing regarding fake news —  the sort often spread around by your strange aunt in the middle of the Karoo.

It’s with these faults in mind that Baron Cohen has turned against Facebook, tweeting out a rather in-depth description of everything wrong with the platform and describing Mark Zuckerberg as an “Emperor”. Surprisingly elegant in his attack, his cries of anger echoed out across Twitter where Elon Musk caught whisperings of the building rage. Thus, Musk threw his big brain into the situation, offering his own criticism.

“#DeleteFacebook It’s lame” boomed the voice of Musk, elevating Sasha Baron Cohen and silencing all those that stood against them.

However, this wouldn’t be the first time Elon Musk has spoken out against Facebook. Back in 2018, following the deletion of Telsa and SpaceX’s Facebook pages, Musk tweeted that he doesn’t “like Facebook. It gives me the willies. Sorry.” At least he had the manners to apologise for causing such an upset.

Mark Zuckerberg has yet to respond to these comments, but given the state of the discourse, I think it would be fair to say that he’ll likely release a statement saying, “Tesla’s dumb”.
