So you followed along on Twitter or on Apple’s live-stream, or perhaps even here at Stuff. You know that there are upgrades coming to Apple’s iDevices with the pending launch of iOS 13 and the tablet-specific iPadOS. But unless you’ve got the right devices, you might be in for a little heartache.
That’s right, Apple’s annual operating system refresh also means that it’s time for Apple’s annual culling. Several mobile phones and tablets are ineligible for iOS 13 and iPadOS. If you’re rocking one of these devices, you’re gonna have a bad time. It may be time for an upgrade, folks.
Bring forth the condemned
And if you’re a tablet fan, then you should know that the original iPad Air (which, to be fair, launched six years ago!) won’t be supported by Apple’s new iPadOS. It’s not going down alone, though. The iPad Mini 2 and iPad Mini 3 also aren’t getting any iPadOS love. Aww…
Of course, this doesn’t mean that your device is going to stop functioning. You’ll just be confined to iOS 12 (in most cases) for the rest of your device’s lifespan. That’s… hardly the worst fate in the world.
