This is Dell’s updated-for-2016 XPS 13 – now available in rose gold

Dell’s XPS 13 notebook has always been one of the more popular models to issue forth from the company so its not surprising that there’s an updated model, carrying Intel’s new 7th generation processors, on the way.

xps-13Buyers will soon be able to pick up an XPS 13 toting Intel’s newest Kaby Lake Core i3, i5, and i7 chipsets, as well as a selection of other specs typical of the range. There’s a standard HD screen or a Quad HD display, if your budget will stretch and you feel like treating your eyes.

RAM options will be 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB and you can go from 128GB to a full 1TB of solid-state storage if the fancy takes you. It’ll cost you at the upper end of the spectrum, though. As for graphics, there’s just Intel’s HD Graphics 650 in store so you’ll need to get something else for your gaming needs.

Dell is claiming some impressive battery life with the refreshed XPS 13, at least, saying that the notebook will handle web browsing and streaming for a solid 13 hours. That’s a feat we’ll have to see to believe, though. If true…

In addition to bumping up the specs, Dell is offering a new colour variant for the first time. Rose gold, which seems to be all the rage these days, is the newest shade of Dell. Now your XPS can match your iPhone or your Samsung phone, or your Huawei smartwatch, or… you get the idea. The upgraded XPS 13 will be available from 4 October in the States. We’ll have local details as they become available.
