This is what you’ll need to run the Oculus Rift on PC

Mass-market virtual reality is looming ever closer, with a release of the consumer Oculus Rift headset expected to take place in early 2016. That’s good, that means you have time to prepare.

Oculus VR have listed the system requirements for getting the Oculus Rift headset working on your PC and if you’re rocking a basic Macbook or Windows notebook, you’re going to need a bigger gun. The company have given out their recommended requirements and most of us are looking at a system upgrade before the end of the year.

Based on the language used, you might be able to get away with a lower system configuration but we’d stick to Oculus’ setup. They’ve said that having users with a similar setup “…will be fundamental to VR’s success, as developers can optimize and tune their game for a known specification, consistently achieving presence and simplifying development.” So do your part and get that credit-card to work.
