Ahead of its proper debut at Mobile World Congress in a couple weeks, LG has announced the Watch Urbane, an Android Wear smartwatch with an all-metal body that looks like a luxury-minded take on the G Watch R.
The stainless steel body is available in gold and silver models with a stitched leather 22mm strap, and although the core design is largely familiar, the Watch Urbane has a “narrower bezel that gives it sleeker lines” than the G Watch R, says LG.
“The LG Watch Urbane’s classic design and smart features make it the perfect smartwatch to complement our G Watch and G Watch R, which were designed as more casual and active devices,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Mobile. “LG Watch Urbane is an important part of our strategy to develop wearable devices that are worn and viewed as everyday accessories, not electronic gadgets.”
No details about pricing or availability were provided, but we’ll surely get that info during MWC, which runs from 2-5 March.
